I've eaten shark meat. It's not as tasty as many fish species but good enough. Especially small size sharks. Soup from shark fins is tasty too.

Well it won’t kill you (at least I don’t think), just makes you feel like crap and makes you go crazy.

But you’d have other symptoms before you got to that point: hair and skin dries out, brittle fingernails, etc.

You’re supposed to have what? 100 grams of fat per day, at least?

(Obviously, things like fish oil, olives/olive oil, and avocados are a much healthier source of fat)

I haven't tried equids. I don't think not eating it practised by odinists or northern pagans. It's not acceptable to eat horse meat in some cultures. Traditionally, pork and poultry was choice in our culture. Easy to feed and a pig bears many piglets.

I suspect antelopes would taste as venison. Lean and tasty. It'd be often seasoned with juniper berries. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juniper_berry

When Xianity was forced upon the Saxons the church banned the eating of horsemeat as it was traditionally sacrificed to Odin/Wotan. Actually it was a sensible form of recycling but probably needed long slow stewing.

Different shark species tastes very, very different. The tastiest sharks are porbeagle, thresher and mako and they are big sharks. In addition, the shark has to have been bled and treated properly, or it will have an ammonia taste to the meat - since it urinates through its skin and if it dies the urea will become ammonia and enter the flesh. I've had shark served even in restaurants which had some ammonia taste to the meat. The sharks most commonly served in Europe are spurdog and tope. Tope almost always have some ammonia after taste to it, and I think it sucks.

Horse is another animal I would never eat. Horse and man have such a great history together I don't understand how certain European countries can eat them. I'm sorry but that's just disgusting to me.

Would you wear horse leather shoes ? The best shoes made in America are made out of horse leather called horween or shell cordovan. They last a lifetime but you probably have to get them resoled over the decades.

Alden and Allen Edmonds make them :

Strangest things I have eaten was some reindeer sausage from Alaska, sushi, and deer meat.

About the consumption of horse meat among Europeans.

Some countries eat horse meat more than other. Some countries have restricted butcheries for selling horse meat such as Germany. In most European countries it's a niche meat product. English speaking countries, Poland, Belarus, Lithuania, much of Ukraine don't consume horse meat. The situation in Russia is different as it's multiethnic. AFAIK very western Russians, towards the borders with Belarus and Latvia, don't eat horse meat either.

Even in UK, Ireland, Poland, Belarus one can find horse meat products. My Belarusian extended family doesn't eat horse meat. Most of our society don't. It's unacceptable.
Such attitude came to us from pagan times or because horses were a dear animal to us that I don't know. Probably from pagan times. There's a controversy in Poland if the country should export horses for slaughter to Italy.
