Agreed. I would even go as far as to say that, outside the upper classes, natural red hair seems to be nonexistent here.

The thing is that you are dealing with Mediterranean folks meeting Mediterranean folks, often quite similar in phenotype, there's a real Mediterranean race we can trace back to Anatolia and Levant.

How do you know he was of pure Phoenician descent after centuries of family lineage in Tunisia, and trading through Libya, Sicily and Iberia? We would rather assumed the opposite.
I always found the bust had Roman fashion so its hard to tell.
Good point @ the underlined, never considered that angle. My initial assumption was driven purely by debates against American or Americanized individuals who came at it thru a 'he had to have had admixture" (with said admixture being SSA), and there being no portrayals of his likeness that even hinted at that. I don't want to attract the trolls, but you know there are misrepresentations of him here in the US by the usual ethnocentric chauvinist / cultural hijackers.

    Anyways, appreciate the feedback bro.
As a lifelong student of anthropology, history, etc. I would definitely be thrown off based on the pics. Perhaps in real life it may be different. For example, I've been able to distinguish some women from rather far flung countries who can superficially pass as 'Latina" but turn out to be from somewhere else. It's something in their phenotype that points to them being foreign, and I'm usually right. Just happened the other day with a Turkish chick and a Pakistani chick. Both happened to be very good looking. I've also said it before on this forum, Berber women can definitely compete on the world stage of beauty and modelling.

I've only met like 6 red-haired Dominicans in my life and 4 of them were quadroon/octoroon looking. Three of them were siblings from Santiago. I've seen a lot of brown mulattoes with orange-ish hair and frickles however.

I should tell her to come back and post here once in a while
She has a pretty busy life so I am not sure if she would come back
It's understandable that she feels that way. I admit that New York people can be dumb as hell when it comes to these perceptions. I guess It's because we are too diverse like I mentioned before and on top our population is constantly changing fast.

Do you know where in NYC she lives btw.? Is she still dating the same guy? I've met a good amount of Mexican Americans from the West Coast/SouthWest here but they are usually educated types.

She could never not in a million years pass in the Horn of Africa. Too flat nose and overall westafrican facial features.

    Nope.
