High metrical variability always will exist in populations. Just look what old typologists could do with the Ancient Egyptians. Some were classified as "Nordic", some as "Negroid".

Yes, some typologists took a lot of liberties with the evidence.

But what I'm talking about is some Natufian samples were consistently singled out as resembling certain North Africans. Other Natufian sites are not specifically mentioned in those conversations. Briggs doing this with the Shuqbah Natufians is just another example of this (Briggs' comments about the Shuqbah sample were already preceded by similar comments made by Coon and Keith about the exact same sample).

JL Angel came to the same conclusion as well and even stated Nubia was the possible origins of the traits, or Tasians/Badarians.

So, Game Theory. You expect when we have more Natufian genomes sequenced, for us to get considerably different results?

Did he ever name a specific Natufian sample? IIRC he said something to the effect of "latest Natufian hunters", which is just another example showing that these researchers saw substructure among Natufians and didn't see them as a homogeneous population.

I never saw him state which Nubian series, but he did state they showed resemblances to Badarians and Tasians in the same quote.
