Default Would you call these models "fat"?

Models need to be tall and skinny...they're meant to be human hangers, or walking mannequins. In the language of models, if you're called "healthy" it's synonymous to "fat"...and the end of their careers. Now, there's a new type of model and they are called "plus-sized" models...they're considered "fat" just because they're not a typical size 0-2.

But look at these women...these are the top plus-size models in the fashion industry. They look like everyday women to me...skinnier compared to some! (The average American woman's dress size is 14). If you see them on an ad, would you call them fat?

I think it's healthy that women could look at models and see themselves in them...and I think they're beautiful.

I'd call them PHAT.....as in actually sexy, as opposed to most models who only look good wearing goofy clothes made for metrosexual androgenites who only care that you have an a-hole for them to be attracted.

There was also a ban on European models that they should have a healthy BMI of at least 18...of course some designers were against it, but can you imagine these 6 feet tall women who only weigh 120 pounds? And women have to think they're the "standard". Of course no one can compare to them.

    Nice! They are "phat" models.

But in all seriousness, is it really so that people want that thin women as we are accustomed to see models as? Or is it just the industry that believes that? Most men find women with feminine hips to be very attractive, and it is a sign of fertility. So I don't but that we want that thin women, I think it is the industry that thinks we do.

BMI of 18, despite being within healthy range, is still too skinny IMO. I try to keep mine around 25, and will purposely gain if I go under and lose if I go over. I look sick if my BMI is under 25.

Oh, BMI of 25 is still normal, although it's already bordering to "overweight". For men they can get away with it, but for women, weight is a very sensitive topic...

I think the technical term would be "thick."

25 isn't bordering overweight, but it's still in the upper range of the healthy range.

If mine gets under 25 I look like crap, since I don't have much body fat anyways, but I naturally have a lot of muscle (even when I don't work out). I get people to guess my weight and they'll usually give a guess that is way under what I actually weigh... don't know why that is.
