In my previous post I meant to say subconsciously instead of unconsciously.

I don't recall reading it anywhere. Something similar may have been written by someone. But I'm not aware.

    Empathy quotient

    Your score: 63

0 - 32 = low (most people with Asperger Syndrome or high-functioning autism score about 20)
33 - 52 = average (most women score about 47 and most men score about 42)
    53 - 63 is above average
    64 - 80 is very high
    80 is maximum

Simon Baron-Cohen's recent book The Essential Difference: Men, Women and the Extreme Male Brain proposes that "The female brain is predominantly hard-wired for empathy. The male brain is predominantly hard-wired for understanding and building systems.

Don't take these tests too seriously - Baron-Cohen himself says in his book that the 'typical' results are only averages, and many men and women differ in their scores.

It's not that I hate you, but let's say that if I had two bullets and Hitler was next to you, I would rather shoot you...twice

I'm definitely not autistic but I scored 20. I've been told I severely lack empathy.
I swear by my life, and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.

Yes. In what capacity it does not matter, but yes. However, I also realize that my methods of possible assistance are limited unless I am able to go personally to assist.

In many cases, the situation must change through struggle and movements. Hence, my ideological support of leftist movements in many countries, especially unions, and in some cases communist/socialist insurgencies. It is not the politics that guide this, but the idea that modernization, safety standards, literacy, etc. has to come.

If I only read about such an event in a newspaper, it wouldn't touch me that much. I actually sometimes think that catastrophes where lots of people die are good, because there are already too many people on this planet. However, if I saw a stranger talk about how he or she lost a loved one, a family member, or a canary bird in such a catastrophe, it would touch me and I would probably shed a few tears. I can't watch people who are in emotional distress without getting into a similar state myself. I could never attend a strange person's funeral; it would be very upsetting.

If I don't know him then no, I would not care about him.

If somebody got injured in front of me then I probably would help them.

If somebody died halfway around the world then I definitely would not give a shit.

Most "care" for other people is superficial and not actual.

"Actual care" is reserved for blood-relation, like progeny, and extends-outward from there.

Yes I care and unlike most people, I do things to help them, ie, charitable work etc.

I'm no angel though, it's just that I find that the elderly deserve a lot more than they currently receive.

One death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic. Like most people I for the life of me cannot get worked up over natural disasters occurring in Haiti or Pakistan, but I can feel sorry for a single, identifiable person when reading about their suffering.
